LANTA Needs Well-Designed Bus Shelters

It’s not the only thing that will get more people to ride the bus (frequency and punctuality probably matter more), but a well-designed, aesthetically appealing bus shelter is one of the only ways for the transit authority to signal that public transit isn’t just for low-status people.

If LANTA’s buying 200 bus shelters, they need to be modern awesome looking bus shelters:

LANTA will be installing up to 200 additional bus stop shelters throughout the Lehigh Valley over the next few years, agency officials said.

The shelters are being purchased from Handi Hut Inc., of Cifton, N.J., and installed by Fast Signs Inc., of Allentown.
