What’s the Case for Term Limits in Lehigh County?

Who does Bill White think has been in office for too long in Lehigh County? I’m sorry, but the case for term limits here is extremely weak. If you want to make elections more competitive, I’m all for that, but this isn’t the way to do it. There’s no reason you couldn’t switch to Instant Run-off Voting, or proportional representation for all County offices. If there aren’t any districts, you can’t gerrymander the district lines to make seats uncompetitive.

Freedom to choose elected leaders should also include the choice to keep reelecting a popular politician for as long as people still like her. I think it would have been much better if Bill Clinton had been in office from 2001-2004. Mike Bloomberg is a much better guy to have as NYC mayor right now than Bill Thompson, etc.
