How far to the nutty right is the House Republican position on the debt ceiling? Well to the right of Republican voters. Nate Silver looks at the polling evidence:
If Republicans in the House insist upon zero tax increases, there is a larger ideological gap between House Republicans and Republican voters than there is between Republican voters and Democratic ones.

I wonder sometimes Jon if you read all of what you post, or headlines.
You do realize that the link shows the almost 50% of Democrats disagree with your often-stated position that you should not cut spending at all?
Just wanted to remind you again how far out on the fringe you are.
And Bernie is still waiting for you to acknowledge your factual error regarding Ron Angle. Be a man and admit it.
why is there no house democrats circle on that graph?
What?
The nifty graph ain't so nifty?

That's misrepresenting my position. My position is, and has always been, that we need a much larger deficit in the short-term, at least through 2014. In the medium-term we need Medicare, and the private insurers in the new insurance exchanges, to start paying less to health care providers. Tying payments to what's proven to get results (using the data the UK's NHS uses for example) would go a long way to bring our health care spending in line with other countries. And that's it. That's all we have to do.
